9/11

I think after the events of 9/11/2001 many things changed in America, specifically things regarding airport security, communications between airports, military, and the airplane.
After viewing On Native Soil I learned that communications at the time were awful. During the crisis, through hearing the recordings, the flight operators had no idea what to do in the situation and clearly weren't trained for handling a hijacking. Today that has changed drastically, those operators are highly trained and would know what to do in a situation like that today. Airport security was probably the most scrutinized in On Native Soil, and probably changed most drastically. Since then there have been many improvements in airport security and the TSA has become much more alert and much stricter since 9/11.
Do you guys have anything to add?

  1. I agree. Everything has changed throughout the years. I think it is crazy that the communication was lacking at such an important time. It is great to know that airport security has gotten bigger for our safety and security.

  2. I also agree everything has changed since 9/11. Airport security has probably changed the most since everything happened. Today is different there are air marshals on almost every flight to bring some security. Since 9/11 we have opened our eyes and better protected ourselves.

  3. I also think that after 9/11 the building exits became more important than ever, for example, when the people tried to go to the roof in the world trade center, the door was locked but now, I don't think any exit can be locked, they just added an alarm to the door so when someone open the door the alarm goes on.
